Re: [linrad] Help: Sound under SuSE 9.1
tnx for your help. I have now a second soundcard configured.
dev0: C-Media CMI 8738 5.1 PCI, read only in Linrad
dev1: SB16 VibraX, ISA Card, wr only in Linrad
I use dev0 as AD Input @ 8000Hz. Card works OK as before.
I selected dev1 as output, reconfigured DA rate back to 8000Hz.
This is an old ISA Card and cannot run duplex, but as it is configured in
Linrad as wronly this should not be a major problem.
The cards seems to work ok. I get sound out of the speaker when I connect a
signal source to the line in of the same card on condition that the
alsamixer settings a adapted for this situation.
As I use the dev0 only for read, the "Disable direct connection from to
input to output" - thing should not be a problem, as I don`t want to use
this card in duplex mode anyway.
However, there is no output from the SB16 in Linrad. I can hear a "click" in
the speakers when I click(left or right mousebutton) on the spectrum (as if
something switches), but no sound out of the speakers.
Don't think it is a SB16 problem really. Meanwhile I wonder if I operate
Linrad correct or if the software itself has a problem. Should I try and
recompile Linrad?
Any idea?
