Re: [linrad] Help: Sound under SuSE 9.1

Hi Daniel,

I don't think that a recompilation of Linrad will solve this problem.
I would rather use the following checklist to pinpoint the origin of the
problem:
1. Check whether the volume-control in the filter-window of Linrad is set
to the right value.
2. Check the alsa-configuration of your soundcards:
Use Yast /hardware/sound and check whether your 2 soundcards are active and
recognised by Alsa.
3. Check the settings of the amixer commands for your 2 soundcards before
you start Linrad:
For example , if a PCI128 is used as output, and is configured as the
first card ( see step 2) , the following commands work :
amixer -c0 sset PCM,0 100% 100% unmute
amixer -c0 sset Master,0 50% 50% unmute
You will have to adapt these commands to the specific syntax that is
applicable to the SB16 VibraX card.
4 .Check whether the right dsp device is selected for output in the
Linrad-menu (option U)
To find out which /dev/dspx/ line in the list corresponds to your output
card, some trial and error could be required.

Succes and best 73,

Pierre /ON5GN
